Imagine making a website showcasing your writing chops only to discover that you’ve become redundant

Hi, I am Ritwik, a copywriter and content person. Welcome to my party, while it lasts.

To be a writer in an age when AI can do so much is like being a lizard armed with a tiny plastic sword, next to a T-Rex. It’s tragic.

Even if you desperately want to root for the underdog (or, in this case, the under-reptile), deep down, you know it’s pointless. It’s a hopeless fight.

Or is it?

But it’s not all binary. Not even with AI.

Sure, T-Rexes can do a lot of things; like walking around in a 10-foot dress advertising your vegan dino snack brand; or knocking down other huge reptiles employed by your rival dino F&B companies in a Google arena.

But there’s more to it than that. That’s because being a decent writer means not only putting out grammatically correct content, preferably without consulting Grammarly, but also conjuring stories and ideas from thin air.

And sometimes, it means putting a T-Rex in a dress to drive home a point.

A writer’s place, in a world with all-powerful robots and dainty T-Rexes

So, am I advocating that you should not use AI? On the contrary, you should, especially for tasks that are repetitive or so mind-numbingly boring that a person may end up making mistakes.

But when you need to tell a brand story or create one, bring in a human. They are just more fun people.

Meet your writer. He knows nothing.

I’ve been a writer for over 10 years now. And although I’ve worked in advertising, digital marketing and eCommerce, when it comes to your business, in all likelihood, I wouldn’t know a thing. But that may not be such a bad thing.

This is because I am probably a bit like your prospective customers: an outsider (with a short attention span to boot). By not understanding jargon myself, I can cut through it and make your messaging more straightforward for your audience.

I am big on working with small businesses, contributing to passion projects, and just generally supporting underdogs.

This website is where I put up some of the projects I’ve worked on, as well as opinions on things that I’m fascinated or preoccupied with at the moment.

Welcome to my party. Now leave me alone.

I'm Ritwik. This is my vain blog site disguised as a portfolio. You can find my work, current obsessions, and a few unsolicited opinions about the world.

Please ignore the dummy content and stock images. Like advertising campaigns and life itself, this site and its author too are works in progress.

Everyone has a past. Please judge me for mine.

All this content was written by a very human copywriter / SEO writer in Montreal, Canada

I never thought there would come a day when I’d have to sign off my content with a disclaimer like this, but considering the times, that’s where we stand.

Actually, scratch that. Can I help you with something?

If you have either an infectious idea or oodles of cash to give out, I'll write for you. If you have both, I'll marry you. I'm easy like that.
